Hilary Green, M.Sc.

Registered Psychologist

IMG_9404Hilary works with both adults and couples, including first responders, military, and veterans. She helps clients facing challenges related to PTSD and trauma, grief and loss, mood and anxiety, navigating interpersonal relationships, life changes and transition, postpartum related adjustment and difficulties, stress management and burnout, reducing unwanted behaviours (e.g., self-harm, disordered eating, and problematic substance use), and other areas within yourself or your life that you feel most affected. Hilary collaborates with her clients so that their unique goals, values, and needs are integrated into the therapeutic process.

Hilary takes an attachment and trauma-informed approach to therapy, viewing each person and their presenting concerns within a larger systemic and sociocultural context. She has extensive training in and integrates several evidence-based practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing techniques. She is dedicated to ongoing learning and updating her clinical skills through training, consultation, and supervision.

Hilary is originally from Ontario, but now calls Nova Scotia home. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Psychology degree from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology degree from Acadia University. She has experience working in hospital, crisis intervention, university, and private practice mental health settings. The foundation for this work is a strong therapeutic relationship, which makes you feel understood, accepted, supported, and empowered. She is committed to creating a safe space for clients of different gender identities, sexual orientations, romantic/sexual partnerships, communities and cultures.
