Our services include:
Understanding how you or your child learns and processes information is a powerful first step. Our psychoeducational and ADHD assessments are conducted by registered psychologists and provide clear, actionable results — whether you’re seeking school accommodations, a formal diagnosis, or simply answers for your academic pursuits.
If you’ve been wondering whether ADHD, a learning disability, or another cognitive factor might be affecting your daily life, we can help you find clarity.
Every member of the Crossroads team became a psychologist or therapist for the same reason: to help people. We work with you to explore the challenges you’re facing and equip you with the tools to address them — at a pace that works for you.
Not every issue has a quick resolution, and we don’t pretend otherwise. What we offer is a steady, skilled, and compassionate presence as you work toward the life you want to live.
Taking that first step toward therapy is often the hardest part. We’re here to make it as easy as possible.
Our counselling office is located at 128 Appaloosa Run, Hammonds Plains, close to Bedford and easily accessible from across the Halifax Regional Municipality. We offer free parking and a warm, welcoming environment.
Can’t make it in person? We also offer video sessions, so you can access support from wherever you are.
We respond quickly. Reach out by phone, email, or through our contact form — and we’ll answer your questions, address any concerns, and schedule an introductory session at a time that works for you.
Our team looks forward to hearing your story.

Why Assessment Matters (At Any Age)
For Children, Teens & Post-Secondary Students
An early assessment can change a child’s entire educational trajectory. Instead of being labeled “difficult” or “unmotivated,” they receive the accommodations they need —like extra time on tests, assistive technology, or specialized instruction. Most importantly, it protects their self-esteem. Later assessments for students can help identify needed accommodations which can be a lifeline for significant tests like the MCAT, GMAT and LSAT.
We are happy to announce that Kelsey Chiasson, M.A., has returned to Crossroads Counselling & Psychological Services from her leave.
Kelsey Chiasson, M.A.
For those who have worked with Kelsey before, you know she brings a unique and deeply compassionate perspective to our team. With her background as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) before transitioning into counselling, Kelsey has a profound understanding of the connection between the mind and body. She doesn’t just look at the symptoms; she works with her clients to address the root causes of distress.
While “Autism Awareness” has been a standard phrase for years, at Crossroads Counselling & Psychological Services, we believe it’s time to move the conversation forward. Awareness is simply the recognition that autism exists; acceptance is the active work of creating a community where neurodivergent individuals are valued, supported, and included exactly as they are.
In Hammonds Plains and beyond, true inclusion grows through understanding and intentional action. Here are three ways to move beyond simple awareness and foster a truly neurodiverse environment.
