Registered Counselling Therapist – Candidate (RCT-C)

Nicole joins the Crossroads team as a registered therapist having completed the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program at Yorkville University. At Yorkville, Nicole studied various counselling methodologies including psychodynamic, humanistic, behavioural, and cognitive modalities. Multicultural counselling frameworks were applied throughout all course work which has enhanced her cultural awareness and competency as a therapist.
Nicole’s therapeutic approach is both integrative and collaborative, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space for her clients. Her approach utilizes a strength-based approach and draws upon various therapeutic modalities including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness. She works with clients who are experiencing various challenges including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, stress, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem.
Prior to the move into counselling, Nicole’s background in project management and corporate leadership roles spanned over 20 years. The skills and context gathered during that time enable Nicole to bring a grounded set of active listening, empathy, conflict resolution, mediation, and mentoring skills. The combination of life, work, academic and practicum experiences bring a holistic perspective to her clients.
